Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand : The Most talked about Book of the Summer

Image
My Thoughts: Ok I have read Finding Freedom for my self and my thoughts are ,. first let me say I am not bashing any one and I am not Anti Meghan these are my personal views on the book.First of all even though the authors claim that they did not speak to the couple that was a lie out of the gate, they admit it in the first few pages of the book. Second of all I got the feeling that The Duchess ghost wrote the book as some details only she could have known such as what yoga pose she d id on a certain morning and personal details about the proposal and how Harry feels when he reads comments of social media. Tiaragate is also brought up in the book put puts the blame on Angela Kelly the queen's personal dresser for not arragning a "hair trial" fast enough to thier liking.. THE WHOLE BOOK is laughable The Duke and Duchess come out of the book as the most self centered miserable ungrateful couple . and the sad thing is they really believe they are victims of the world.  side ...

Meghan and Harry The Real Story BY Lady Colin Campbell: Intriguing, Fair, Balance

Image
Summary: With a unique breadth of insight, Lady Colin Campbell goes behind the scenes, speaking to friends, relations, courtiers, and colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic to reveal the most unexpected royal story since King Edward VIII's abdication. She highlights the dilemmas involved and the issues that lurk beneath the surface, revealing why the couple decided to step down as senior royals. She analyses the implications of the actions of a young and ambitious Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in love with each other and with the empowering lure of fame and fortune, and leads the reader through the maze of contradictions Meghan and Harry have created—while also evoking the Californian culture that has influenced the couple's conduct. Nevertheless  her biographies always are intriguing to read This one is no exce...

An Uncommon woman By Laura Frantz

Image
Summary: Unflinching and plainspoken, Tessa Swan is not your typical 18th-century woman. Born and bred on the western Virginia frontier along with her five brothers, she is a force to be reckoned with. Quiet and courageous, Clay Tygart is not your typical 18th-century man. Raised by Lenape Indians, he returns a hero from the French and Indian War to the fort that bears his name, bringing with him Tessa's long-lost friend, Keturah, who disappeared from the settlement years earlier. Determined to avoid any romantic entanglements as fort commander, Clay remains aloof whenever he encounters the lovely Tessa. But when circumstances force Clay's hand--and heart--the stage is set for one very private and one very public reckoning. My Thoughts: I enjoyed the story Tessa was a stong willed woman , the Author did a great job bringing to life the stories of the 18th century life of the early Virginans and the Native Americans .  The sweet romance between Clay and Tessa was my fa...

Celeste By V.C.Andrews is just DULL

Image
First observations. Introduction and chapter 1 The story and immediately begins telling us about the superstitions of Celeste mother. A couple new ones is that I noticed immediately within the Introduction and chapter 1 are 1) Celeste is definitely not her mother's favorite child. 2) Celeste and her brother and Noble are twins but are very different. 3) Noble seems to be her mother's favorite child yet he is not sensitive to the superstitions that plague Celeste mother. 4) the superstitious feelings visions and delusions seem to be an inherited quality from Celeste maternal family who are from Hungary 5) we are given an alternative view of the world from Celeste father who seems a very normal loving caring individual however he is not superstitious nor interested in those things. There is a very poignant seen in this first chapter that I feel gives a foreshadowing of something coming in the future. Noble is leaning against his mother's breast and she is caressin...

Wolves Among Us By Ginger Garrett

Image
In a small village near the Black Forest, a double murder sets the stage for a charismatic inquisitor to begin a terrifying witch hunt among the town's women. Mia, the sheriff's wife, is the axis around which this story turns as she keeps her past a secret while dutifully tending to her sickly daughter and her aged mother-in-law. The town's priest, Father Stefan, struggles with leading his flock faithfully while keeping evil from taking over the village. Confused about what is good and what is evil, these two characters embark on much soul-searching as the violence around them intensifies to a stunning conclusion. My Thoughts: Ginger is one of my favorite authors in the Christian Historical fiction genre. So I am a bit biased when it comes to her books. This latest in the Chronicles of the Scribe series was really different it had it all Drama , history and Passion. a fabulous read from a time I didn't know about. Thanks to Jeanne From David Cook Publishing for the chan...
