American Wife... A Total Bore.

Alice Blackwell is suppose to be a fictional character based on Laura Bush. The author takes major events of the first lady's life and tweaks them a bit to fit her character. I found Alice to come off as a miss goody good shoes and her husbands is portrayed some what as dummy. The whole book bored me to death. Rating:D
Challenge Note: Since this book took me so long to get through. I have to add another month on to the Remember the Ladies Challenge In order to finish the other book I have set aside for the challenge.

Royal Flush By Rhys Bowen

Even though Lady Georgiana is only thirty-second in line to the British throne, one would expect her to possess something other than her good name. Alas, this is not the case, and when a scheme to drum up money by being a suitable dinner companion for male travelers goes terribly wrong, she hightails it up to the family home in the Highlands. There, she finds the castle full of guests (including Wallis Simpson), who make up part of a shooting party at nearby Balmoral. But the grouse aren’t the only ones in danger as guests keep turning up injured (including one hapless woman who’s knocked about by the castle’s old plumbing while she is on the “throne”). Is there a plot afoot to do in members of the royal family? My Thoughts: Georgie is back and boy she is literally dodging the bullets in this one. Like the previous books in the series Georgie is trying to make her life better with out embarassing her Royal realatives. Her latest stint as a Escort gets her sent to the dreaded Rannoch ...

My New Best Friend The Kindle3

A few months ago my friend Leslie got herself a Kindle Since she was like me finding her shelves over stuff with paperback books.I was still on the fence about ereaders I love to go in to the book store and browse the shelves and look at the cover art.I didn't know If I could see my self reading from a machine. Over the last few months I have enjoyed listening to Leslie tell me all the neat books she found for free and how much fun it is to use. The instant gratification of having a new book dowloaded is really the key here. Once I decided I wanted one the question was Which one? The Nook had just come out with the Nook Color and it had some cool features such as coupons for Starbucks when you go to the localB&N and free books as well. But the downside for me was I don't like touch screen devices. So when hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas I said I just want a Kindle. He wasn't able to get it ordered in time for Christmas, due to his work schedule so it arrive to...

Ready to be Seduced One Last Time.. Farewell to the Tudors

This Sunday starts our last season with Johnathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII where has the time gone???I remember when I discovered that Showtime was going to do air this show I was so excited I had to find out all I could about it. There is no denying that the Tudors were some of my favorite historical characters. But the casting of Johnathan Rhys Meyers just made my day I had seen his performance as Elvis the previous summer and I was blown away by his sexiness. I couldn't wait to see him portray my favorite Monarch, Henry VIII. At first I was a bit skeptical but I hung in there and he took Henry's life to a whole new level for me. Like most people I could not picture Henry as young sexy man due to all the portraits showing him as this heavy obeased king. Despite the critics Johnathan has helped bring The Tudor's legacy to a whole new generation, even husbands are tuning in to see what all the wives are raving about when the Tudors air. The whole cast of Henry's wives...
